First Craft Brewery In West Hartford, CT Open For Business

On Saturday March 25, the first craft brewery in West Hartford finally got to open its doors to the public after three long years of planning.  New Park Brewing, co-owned by John Doyle, Tom Atkins, and Alex Dee, offers seating for 80 inside its 2,500 sq. ft. brewery and taproom, and outdoor patio seating for 30 when the weather is nice.

Initially, the brewery is offering four beers to its customers including Hopiary, Foliation, Cloudbreak IPA, and Carbon.  The Cloudbreak IPA reportedly contains notes of cantaloupe and grapefruit; while Hopiary, developed by Dee prior to the decision to open a brewery, offers notes of tropical fruit, toasty oats, pine needles, and floral honey.

Doyle said that because it's taken so long for the brewery to finally open, the co-owners have met lots of people along the way and were happy to see many familiar faces at the brewery's opening, not to mention Mercado, Yardbird & Co., and other local food trucks that were on hand for the exciting occasion.

All of the co-owners live in the area and have ties to the West Hartford community, as well as children in local schools.  Because of this, they felt it was naturally the best location for the brewery.  Currently the business hours at New Park Brewing are 4 to 10 p.m. on Fridays, noon to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
