Markem-Imaje SmartDate X40 Used In Packaging Update

Recently an article at Packaging World revealed that Popz USA, a microwave popcorn manufacturer based in Bennettsville, SC has 'pumped up' its packaging efficiencies while reducing packaging waste and maintenance costs.  Markem-Imaje is proud to be part of the company's effort as Popz, which markets in more than 38 countries and has five production facilities around the globe, chose our SmartDate X40 date coder for coding the OPP film packages.

Popz makes not only the Popz brand, which is seen in the company's microwave tubs at many U.S. Wal-Mart stores, but also produces private label popcorn for retailers both domestically and internationally.

In January of this year the company made the decision to upgrade operations after determining the flow wrappers they had been using were not up to standards the company needed in terms of speed, and maintenance on equipment was time consuming.  Popz chose Campbell Wrapper Corp. to upgrade, by installing Pioneer ServoFlo® fin seal horizontal flow wrappers.  President of Popz, Jerry Cross, said the company had past experience with the company, and appreciated the fact that the equipment was manufactured in the U.S.

Campbell staff were on hand throughout the installation, and also assisted in integrating the Markem-Imaje SmartDate X40 thermal transfer date coders with the wrapping equipment.

Markem-Imaje offers a wide array of coding and marking solutions to many industries, including food/beverage.  The SmartDate X40 provides manufacturers with greater uptime, long-term cost control, enhanced line performance regardless of environmental conditions, and a planet conscious design.  We invite manufacturers in need of exceptional industrial printing equipment solutions to contact us today.
