Glass Bottle Coding - Markem-Imaje Launches White Ink

Those who manufacture beverages in dark colored or amber glass bottles will be pleased to learn that Markem-Imaje recently launched its MW470 coding ink, a white ink that is highly compatible with the amber and colored glass bottles frequently used by craft brewers in North America and Europe as well as major brewers across Africa, America, and Europe.  The new ink is designed to be used on both returnable and non-returnable glass bottles.

In the past, many brewers coded dark colored bottles with yellow and blue inks, not particularly harmonious colors but necessary for contrast.  With the new MW470 white ink, manufacturers will enjoy the fact that the ink is pasteurization resistant, and adheres extremely well to glass while it can be easily removed in low soda concentration washers.  MW470 is ideal for coding of returnable bottles that have Opticoat® or other scratch prevention treatments.

While the new white ink is ideal for coding dark bottles, its exceptional adhesive qualities also make it a great choice for bottle racks, aluminum cans, PET bottles, PE and metal drums, removable films, and more.

Designed to code up to 120,000 products per hour, the MW470 ink is the perfect solution for the demands and challenges of the beverage industry when used in conjunction with our 9450S inkjet printer.
