Craft Beer Labeling - Peace Tree Brewing Redesigns Bottle

In November of last year, Peace Tree Brewing launched a redesigned bottle for its line of craft beers in an effort to reinforce brand recognition and strength, and make opening easier for consumers. Located in Knoxville, IA in a former Nash Rambler car dealership, the company was founded in 2009 and offers several specialty and seasonal beers along with four flagship craft brews.

Peace Tree partnered with Berlin Packaging in the bottle redesign effort, whose Studio One Eleven innovation team came up with a custom designed 12-oz amber glass beer bottle fulfilling Peace Tree's need for a true 12-oz fill on the production line, along with easier opening for consumers due to a change in the neck finish.

Ultimately, the collaboration between Peace Tree Brewing and Berlin Packaging was successful, as all of the brewing company's goals were achieved including greater supply-chain efficiencies and a look that's unique and distinctive, without having to make changes or adjustments to Peace Tree's filling line equipment.

According to Berlin Packaging packaging consultant, Jacob Pfitzenmaier, the distinct custom embossment elements at the neck along with a thicker body and shorter neck reinforces brand recognition while improving grip and providing easy pry-off opening for consumers.
