Bosch Packaging Technology Launches New Capsule Filling Machines

Two new capsule filling machines have recently been introduced by Bosch Packaging Technology, a Waiblingen, Germany based processing and packaging technology company. The new machines, the GKF 702 and GKF 2500, were designed to meet a growing need for filling flexibility. More and more, firms are demanding the ability to produce various sized batches of both powder and liquid products, most of them used for pharma research and development purposes. Bosch develops and produces complete solutions for the food, confectionery and pharmaceutical industries in more than 15 countries with locations in the U.S., Japan, India, Switzerland, China, Austria, France and South Africa among others. Markem-Imaje knows that in nearly every industry today packaging is becoming more and more innovative. Flexibility is a requirement in many industries which manufacture a variety of product sizes from the smallest to the largest. As a world leader in industrial printing equipment, we provide printing solutions to a wide range of industries including food, beverage, electronics, pharmaceuticals, personal care products, cables and more. According to Melanie Beck, product manager of capsule filling at Bosch, "This makes it possible to fill very small batches for pharmaceutical or clinical purposes under realistic production conditions." The GKF 702 is designed for improved ergonomics and can be used in the lab as well as in the production environment; it is designed for small and medium-sized batches. The GKF 2500 offers a higher yield and flexible processing of a wider range of products. Beck said of the GKF 2500 that the capsule filling machine offers a gentle filling process with need-based application to manufacturers, and meets all pharmaceutical production requirements.
